O’Connor places fifth in VAFA Premier C Best & Fairest

Senior centre-half back Neve O’Connor has finished a fine season for the Redbacks by placing fifth in the VAFA Premier C Best & Fairest count.

O’Connor polled 14 votes, finishing just two votes off a podium finish and four off the overall winner Sarah Kerr (Yarra Old Grammarians).

The inaugural RMIT Senior Best & Fairest winner’s prolific season, in which she played just nine of a possible 14 matches to make her placing in the Premier C count all that more impressive, is summarised here…

Round 7 v North Brunswick – 1 vote
Round 8 v South Melbourne Districts – 2 votes
Round 9 v Yarra Old Grammarians – 3 votes
Round 12 v Mazenod – 3 votes
Round 13 v North Brunswick – 3 votes
Round 14 v Canterbury – 2 votes

Other vote-getters for the Redbacks include Thomay Nicolaou (nine votes including BOG performances against North Brunswick in Round 7 and Canterbury in Round 14), Sara Riseley (seven including a BOG performance against Old Melburnians in Round 11), Vee Clough-Good, Tahlia Ingram, Sarah McKenna (two votes) and Julz Nannetti (one vote).
