The coaching group for the Academy’s inaugural season has been finalised with Gezim Zeneli set to join as assistant coach.
Zeneli is currently working as a personal trainer in the gym at RMIT’s Bundoora campus; his appointment completes a hat-trick of local RMIT signings to the Academy’s coaching line-up following the confirmation of RMIT Alumni Mitch Lower as head coach and RMIT student April Goldring as playing assistant coach.
He will bring a career’s worth of elite physical preparation to the Academy. His resumé includes being a registered personal trainer at Fitness Australia and a Level 1, 2 & 3 accredited boxing trainer with his specialist areas include boxing, strength & conditioning training, bodybuilding, rehabilitation training, weight loss, high-intensity interval training, resistance training and nutrition.
Zeneli’s football experience includes playing for Carlton’s Under 19s side whilst he will also bring his career with the Australian Defence Force, where he was responsible for training aspiring women who required additional training to meet the high standards of the Force, into his understanding of the requirements of the female athletes at the Academy.
